From Law School Plans to Phone Case Innovation

From the moment the first iPhone was released in 2010, the quest for the perfect case began. It often felt like a trade-off: beautifully designed cases offered minimal protection, while highly protective cases lacked style. This challenge became the inspiration for a new path.

In the summer of 2013, the founder had just completed college with plans for a career in law. However, recognizing a deeper passion for design and innovation, a pivot was made. After six exhausting months of research, initial product design, and dedicated self-investment to acquire inventory, Velvet Caviar officially launched in February of 2014.

The brand coined the phrase **"Pretty Yet Protective"** as its defining tagline. Within months, the concept became a viral sensation across social media, as customers everywhere discovered and fell in love with our unique, protective designer phone cases.
